So today has been terrible..this morning, less than 2 minutes from my house, I spun out on ice on the road going 40 mph +++ and slammed into a wooden fence ...my car ended up in the middle of these poor people's yard and their fence is only half up now (what remains of it

I'm really, really glad that you're OK, but that totally sucks about your car. How long will it be in the shop?

Maybe at least now you can get at least a half day off work for some "Sam time." Sounds like you deserve it!
