Self-control is resisting the temptation to eat that sinfully delicious chocolate bar and picking up the absolutely healthy-looking banana. It is studying with your laptop without signing in to MSN or logging on to Facebook. It's focusing on the long-run instead of the immediate short-term gains. What do you say to someone who felt bad after taking his/her exam? Saying "It's okay" is just plain stupid - it's NOT okay and you and the other person know it, but for lack of a better response, you just say it. It's a great feeling when you can look back at things, discuss them freely and smile knowing that that phase is over and it's the start of something new. Maybe change - may it be in the form of time, space, distance, whatever - is a good thing after all.
