Personal History: Mari was born in a small town in Connecticut, the only child of Ana and David Alcott, where she lived until her father got a job overseas and the family moved to London where she has lived ever since. She worked as a barmaid while she was a Univeristy student and it was during this time she met and had a tumultuous affair with Richard Pitt. The affair yielded a son - Jeremy - who Richard convinced her to give up and let him raise. Lacking the resources to raise a child on her own, she caved under his pressure and agreed to the arrangement and didn't see either of them until Jeremy was nearly grown and she ran into the pair of them at Kings Cross when picking her son Bryant up.
The Christmas after Jeremy was born (a few months after his birth), Mari unwisely got drunk at a Christmas party and ended up sleeping with Anthony Sawyer (who was not above taking advantage of a drunken classmate - nice guy, eh?). It was unplanned and she was unprepared and as a result of her bad judgment there, she ended up pregnant again, this time with another son she would name Bryant. Under pressure from both of their families, she and Tony were married. She has three other children with Tony - 16 year old Sammy, 13 year old Izzy, and 9 year old Kenny.
She did love Tony on some level for the first several years of their marriage, but Tony was too in love with himself and his career to ever truly return the sentiment. She long since fell out of love with him, but she stayed for her children, to give them a better life, at least until the man was killed in a tragic accident a couple of Christmases ago. After a suitable mourning period, she and Richard rekindled their former relationship. He was a changed man and she found herself really falling for him, despite how she fought it and last summer the couple got married.
Mari now has a rather lucrative career as a freelance photographer. She loves her job, especially for all the traveling it allows her to do. She's still working on establishing the relationship with Jeremy that she never had and she and Richard and happily expecting another child together, hoping this one is a girl.

"Richard?" Mari called uncertainly, even though she knew he wasn't here, wasn't home. No one was. She was completely alone and she knew that, but something just wasn't right. She turned around, looking in every direction, but even though something felt.. horrible and wrong.. she couldn't see anything. Nothing weird, anyway.
Oh, but she could feel something. Something cold and horrible and depressing and, try as she might to fight it, she couldn't. She couldn't shake off that feeling that she couldn't even explain.
Even the tears running down her cheeks felt cold to her as she sunk back against the wall, wishing whatever this was would just go away...
Alignment: She's mostly in the dark about how bad things are, but she'd be Pro-Dumbles, obviously, if she did know.
