Cracking Myself Up

Leaving a Section 8 hearing today, I had a vision of going into private practice and making commercials.

"When landlords act up, call Miss Susan."

Yes, my clients call me Miss Susan.  This should go well with the "Who's Your Lawyer?" business cards I wanted when I got out of law school.

Oh yeah, you need ones that say:

"Who's Your Lawyer? Miss Susan!

She's got your back"

You know that's a southern thing, right? When I was little, we always called our elders "Miss X" (NEVER Ms. or Mrs.) or "Mister X". If you didn't know their name, then it was "Yes Miss", or Yes Mister". My adult relatives would address people that worked for them in some capacity the same way. I still have some people I do this for.

Ah, the complexities of southern congeniality.
