I was rummaging through a box of books in a charity shop early this year. I was in a troubled state of mind, trying to decide whether to call off my engagement. I moved the top layer of books aside and saw Couple Therapy: Dramas of Love and Sex staring back at me. I smiled and picked it up.

I read through it fairly quickly, but I find it didn't help me much if at all. The book seems aimed at someone who is a couple's counsellor in training, not someone who might be in need of counselling, and I didn't feel any of the couples in the three cases covered were at all relevant or analogous to my situation.
