mr. halpert goes to washington
it was on days like today that she missed danny and his goldfish.
vague references to "casino night," and set during bartlet's first term.
for
anwariel, who has been craving some cregg/halpert.
Just once, he had to do it - just this one time.
-
It was encased in lime green jello, and sitting atop a nice piece of china. The jackass who did it had been thoughtful enough to put them inside of a ziploc before putting it inside the jello.
At least there was that.
Somehow, that didn't make the plate with the notes inside the jello on top of her desk any less infuriating.
-
“There's a person in my office, Donna.”
“Yes, Josh?”
“What did I tell you about just letting people walk into my office?”
“Don’t. ” She tucked her pencil behind her ear.
“Donna.”
“What, Josh?”
“There's a tall, angry Press Secretary in my office, Donna.”
“You know, she’ll only get angrier the longer you leave her in there.”
Boy was she right.
“Joshua, what am I holding in my hands?”
“That looks like a plate with... is that jello, CJ?”
“Look closely, Joshua, look very closely.”
Slowly, he inched forward to take a closer look. “Are those your briefing notes?”

Jim Halpert wasn’t quite sure how he got assigned the White House beat. (He knows the why, he loved the why - the "Dunder-Mifflin, this is Pam," with her curly hair and fiancé - that he left in Scranton.) and But, here he was - sitting in the White House Press Room, with his credentials in hand, waiting for the briefing to start.
It had started out innocent enough, and he liked this change of scenery.
And yet, he found that what he liked more was CJ's laugh.
-
"Claudia Jean, I hear that someone put your briefing notes inside of a jello mold."
"Yes, sir. It would appear to be that way."
"Do you have any idea as to the perpetrator's identity?"
"Not at the moment, Mr. President."
-
“You looked like you could use a laugh.”
“Excuse me?”
“The jello,” he replied. “You looked like you could use a laugh. Something trivial, you know, something that doesn't happen in the White House.”
“Like jello?”
“Like jello.”
They shared a smile, and that was enough.
