I'm surprised by Obama's seeming reluctance to include details and specifics in his speeches, but I'm not concerned by it, because of how detailed his policies and ideas are on his website. I mean, I don't like that he feels like he has to speak in abstractions just to get people to really listen, but I think that's what has to be done.

Commenting on someone's comment is sometimes a foul, but I wanted to say I agree with you [I'm a Barack supporter].

From everything except his speeches, he seems to know what he's talking about, but it's hard to get other people to think that way too. Hopefully he will provide details soon, and if he gets the nomination [fingers crossed] I think he will be forced to.

Oh it's totally cool. And yeah, sometimes in his speeches towards the end he goes into a few specifics, but I'm guessing his advisors are just riding him hard on the "inspirational messages only" front. And honestly, someone who taught Constitutional Law at UChicago for as long as he did knows what he's talking about past generic self-help book catchphrases (which, yes, he definitely uses them, but he also uses the kind of rhetoric that a well-educated and ready to lead man uses. The gravity and persuasiveness in his tone of voice isn't meaningless to me in terms of qualifications).

...oh, oh, man. I didn't know this until I read your post, and just...wow. I really wasn't expecting this, at all, and...God, that's disappointing, to say the least. He would have been so good for this country, if he'd been paid the attention he deserved.

I thought instantly of you when I heard the news, if only because you're the only die hard Edwards supporter that I konw.

And yeah, to say I'm surprised would be an understatement, because I was convinced he was going to stick it out, if only because he had been saying that all along.
I certainly like him more than Hillary--even if Obama is my first choice--and I was counting on an Obama/Edwards ticket. =/

I agree though--I'm a little frustrated/irritated that everyone's been pouncing on him to endorse someone...and I hope he doesn't.

He's dropping out?! Booo.

I think I'll just start reading your journal instead of reading CNN. It's a lot faster and to the point. ;)

The Claire News Network, complete with admission of its inherent liberal bias. ;)

My friend told me today about Edwards dropping out of the race, and you were the first person I thought of because I was hoping you'd be okay.
