we had 14 baby red platy, mama ate one.. which left us with 13. now we're down to only 3 babies. they've all died. then, yesterday one of the plecos died. and now it looks like one of the adult red platys is about to kick it - doesn't appear to be able to swim, just kinda fluttering around the bottom of the tank

Well, something has changed in the tank. Have you tested the PH and the water temperature? Did some evil person drop a penny in the tank while you weren't watching?

My guess is the PH is wonky.

If the pH is off, it's due to their waste. I live alone, so unless the dog is throwing things in the closed tank, I don't know what else it could be. There's a themometer on the tank, and a heater in the water. It's still registering the same temp as always. I'll check the pH tonight, tho
