condillac considered touch the teacher of the other senses.  if you had to sacrifice one of your senses, which would it be? why?

Easy. Smell.

I can control what I touch, taste, and feel. Hearing is too vital. But smell...

Eh. Just a few weeks near the Gulf and you'll gladly give up your sense of smell for a few moments respite.

First of all, happy birthday, Ryan--hope you enjoy/enjoyed your adventure, whatever that may be/have been :)

Second, I agree-smell could go, no huge deal. And for me there's a potential added bonus of not having my sense of smell eliminate dudes from consideration for being with me. There would be the much larger pool of boys I could be attracted to.... Right now smell's often the dealbreaker--and lots of otherwise acceptable dudes fail the smell test.

Dare I ask why you ask???

I've always found this a bit of a trick question. Music moves me, so if I got rid of hearing I would take away feeling as well. Visual art moves me, so if I got rid of that, same deal. I love food, so taste is important, and touch has to stay. But if you get rid of smell, taste is comprimised. So .... :p
