might even be worth a few words with a lawyer if you havent already to see exactly where you and they stand on all this - but things appear to be looking up anyway.
Exactly. Callling a friend lawyer who has advised me until now.
He hates "the system" as much as i do. The banks tried to force him to pay off his mortgage even though they had no right to according to their contract. He took them to court and won. Was worth a million bucks (literally) to him.
Even if I get what I want. He and I may pursue this further just for a) the sadistic pleasure b) My "mutual obligation" to society :)
Will be interesting to see if my spirits lift after this. It has been a horrible year after Europe. Hopes of a profesiional career in music shattered by the reality of the music scene in Europe, then Centrelink cutting off my pension threaten's even an amateur dedication to music.
Lawyer said i should forget about asking for compensation like my $600 return ticket to Asia because the court costs would far outweigh anything i might claim.
He suggested i accept the offer and i have done that. It has been about two or three weeks since i got a certificate from the appeals court saying my pension should be restored. Am still waiting for it to be restored (including the $50 a week extra i have been missin out on for 1.5 years).

Good luck. It's handy that you have a lawyer friend; I was going to suggest dropping into Fitzroy Legal for some advice.
It does sound (to this complete non-lawyer) like their threat is empty, unless it is specified in the document you sign.
