Subterranean by James Rollins-- a good summer read

Just finished reading Subterranean by James Rollins.  It had thrills and chills, a fun cast of characters, an interesting subterranean world with a lot of variety, devious creatures with lust for human blood, humans, near humans, and even beyond humans.  And it had good doses of humour, and didn't take itself too seriously.

A perfect book for reading while lying out on the beach (if it gets warmer that it does here in Denmark)-- you might even convince someone that you're literary-  Well, perhaps not exactly with James Rollins.

The book was first published in 1999.  I, however, didn't discover James Rollins until approx. 2 years ago when I read Map of Bones and then shortly afterwards Black Order.  I'm hooked.  I still have Ice Hunt on the bookshelf waiting to be read, and I have already ordered his upcoming The Judas Strain (as well as The Wheel of Darkness by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child and Michael Tolliver Lives by Armistead Maupin) from Amazon..

Now I have to figure out what I will read next.  Hmmmmmmm!!!!!

I'm thinking that I should probably read something in Danish for a change of pace.  I'm looking at Historikeren (The Historian) by Elizabeth Kostova, but it sure looks like a serious investment in time.  It's heavy and almost 650 pages.  Oh, well!  I don't think I'm gonna be going to the beach soon with this weather.
