Great to hear your approval! As you may see in the sketches, Kirk initially carried a phaser, but it kinda disrupted the balance of the piece so I opted for the bat'leth. Or simply put, bat'leths are cool.

Yeah, they've got a very wonderful design... tricky to recreate on paper too! Which makes them the more enjoyable to draw. ;)
