Well, if that was true, then I wouldnt have any problems buying a PS3 then? :) All I need is the cash, and I'd gladly blow it all on the PS3 ( Read more... )

PS2 was impossible to keep on shelves at first, but that was more because of the extreme shortage. After the initial rush died out, PS2 wasn't doing shit for a long while. Developers were jumping ship to Gamecube and Xbox (even Dreamcast, until Sega pulled the plug on it), and its future didn't look very good. Then something happened... While Dreamcast owned the market in North America and Europe, it wasn't able to keep its head above water in Japan, where PS2 didn't even need to try to work its way into homes. With Dreamcast out of the way, PS2 wound up thriving based purely on nobody wanting to buy a Gamecube with its ugly unconventional controller, and nobody wanting an Xbox with its omghueg controller made by Satan (unless you were a redneck, then Xbox was where it's at). From that spawned the most rabid generation of fanboys the world has seen since Nintendo vs Sega ( ... )

Well said, now my own brother has made me have second thoughts on getting the system that I love :o Maybe I should go buy a 360 o.o Erm... maybe when I'm as rich as Jupi \o/

With that, maybe I should get the Wii first.. hmmm.... Decisions, decisions.... First thing that comes to mind really is piracy... (with 360 out of the picture for now :p) Would Wii come to that? (With the modchip and all)

If the PS3 would come in at 4th.. (lol) Then maybe it is one good reason for Sony to learn their lesson. Also, can Jupi explain why Sony hates 2D? I just dont get it.
