It is the typical damsel and distress tale of a princess being trapped within the highest tower being guarded by fearsome traps and obstacles that even the bravest of men would quake in their boots. But even before they would be able to get through those challenges and face the fiercest of creatures, they first must gather their courage to make that first step across the molten volcano that protected the princess’ tower.
But this wasn’t the typical center of a volcano, surrounded by molten lava but the deep black waters of the lake outside the castle that the ominous tower appeared. Swirling around, the winds picked up causing the water to rise and crash against the shore in giant waves that travelling across would be most perilous on its own if not for the giant squid, Lusca, guarding it from strange warriors and knights. If they were so brave to dare traipse across the waters to the tower’s door, they would have to face Lusca’s giant tentacle-y wrath first and conquer it before they can rescue the fair damsel inside.
Once Lusca is defeated, the hero must carry onward, using their wit and brains now to continue forth as while brawn and strength have saved the knight from the wrath of the giant squid, it is even more fatal to be without strength of the mind to overcome the obstacles within the tower.
But those with a sharp wit and determination should find these tasks to be quick and be able to proceed to their destination and rescue to princess at the highest point within this tower, beyond the heavy oak doors lamented with precious stones and metals. A door only befitting someone of high status to be sealed behind them.
And then opening the doors, they come upon the sight of the princess’s chamber with the young maiden sitting there in the most lavish of ball gowns, fair lavender in colour and adorned with crystals that shimmer brightly even under the faint candlelight. One would see that the damsel’s foot was confined, cruelly held by the metal brace around the ankle as chains linked it to a bolt in the stone wall. Such a burden to be trapped even within their own prison, unable to escape.
So there the hero stood, now in the presence of the fabled maiden that had been confined to this terrible place, and as they stared into each others eyes....
Ren had the biggest scowl on his face, his only thoughts as he sat there in this dress with the little diamond tiara on his head was ‘How the hell did I get myself into this mess?’
So what now, hero?
