So, at 5:30 pm on Friday, I got an email from this guy about a proofreading position. He says he wants to set up an interview sometime. He tells me to call him, Monday-Friday, between 2pm and 6pm. wait. wait. I don't understand. You got an email at 5:30 friday. You emailed back two days later, on Sunday, and called exactly when he told you to, and he basically said "fuck you, i changed my mind" ?

yes. that is ridiculous.

Did a week go by in between? That would be shitty but kind of understandable.

nope. a week did not go by. only a weekend. two days. and I WAITED TO CALL EXACTLY WHEN HE TOLD ME TO.

You know, I might be paranoid here, but did he hear that I was female and lie about the job being filled? That would be crazy, right? I don't know, he is a tech geek. and sounded vaguely foreign. and everyone knows that foreigners don't like women. but then, my voice doesn't sound that female, either.

I don't know. I just know that this is a whole load of bullshit no matter how you look at it. I've resigned myself to not getting jobs, but getting jerked around like that is obnoxious.
