so, I went to the National Portrait Gallery (also the Museum of American Art) with Bryan and his parents the other day, and it was really great. Philip recommended it and he was justified in doing so. It's something I didn't think I could care for, but I truly enjoyed it ( Read more... )

It's a genre that I truly, truly love, perhaps a little abashedly. But fuck it. I'm thinking something with a lot of dialogue, just two people getting to know each other, something along the lines of Annie Hall or Before Sunrise (honestly, I liked Before Sunset better, but it's less of a romance.)

I already have most of the soundtrack picked out, because that's always the first thing I do when I think of screenplay ideas.

also, we women need to reclaim Romantic Comedies from the claws of Judd Apatow dudeliness. It was OUR genre and he TOOK IT. And they were pretty funny movies for the most part but we need to take back what has been ours since the eighteenth century. damn it.
