We have to buy window units for the new apartment..anyone have favorite brands or models? I'm looking at consumer reports already. Which is actually funny, since the customer reviews on some of their "best buys" are actually really bad.

I'm assuming you mean air-conditioners? If so, BJ's has them really cheap at a pretty high BTU Rate (10,000 which should be good enough for a large sized common room). I bought one there a few years ago and its still going strong and causing condensation on my door knob. If you buy a membership it will offset the savings but you'll have a membership (or you could use charlies).
