So, we are at T-minus 2 days till go time.  Got travel confirmation today for departure on Wednesday afternoon from St. John's to Seattle.

I just received a call from a "friend" whom I haven't heard from in quite a while.  This is one who I considered an "inner circle" friend, until recently.  He had dropped off the face of the planet and hasn't ( Read more... )

Life - and time left on 'Da Rock' - is too short to waste. Go for the friends that you're REALLY gonna miss - and know that I'm going to miss you two HUMUNGEOUSLY!!!!
I just wish (personally, only) that you were staying on this side of the continent, but I know that you have your own paths to travel, and I'm really wishing you both the very best - even if I AM gonna miss seeing yas LOADS!

yep... trying to get the parents to embrace the thought that we have paths we must travel that are not in the same garden as theirs is somewhat difficult, but they're trying to understand.

I'm gonna miss you guys too! we're a good excuse to visit the west coast though! :)

I never saw or heard from said friend until after I had left. Apparently he has taken up with his childhood sweetheart. I found this out from the sister of the childhood sweetheart.
See him if you have time and want to, spend it with the ones that really count if you don't. (and don't question your choice!)
WOW, the ex-woman of this friend is SO much happier now. She keeps in contact all the time. It's good that she found someone! Yayyyyyy!
I will miss you greatly on this coast as well.
With the departure of yourself and Mark, I believe the Shire has lost it's heart, and quite possibley a goodly portion of it's soul.
Love ya sweetie

I figured you and Andrew would be about the only ones who would figure out who I was speaking of. Naming them is not necessary.

The ex-woman does seem to be much happier and in a better place. We've had a number of conversations and I haven't felt the the need to purge the excess of drama from my system afterwards.

We are really going to miss the shire. I have already told Takamori that, even though I've returned my chatelaine's key to him, it's been branded on my soul. Even last week at an AAMP activity in Mt. Pearl, I was pimping the shire to everyone. And I've promised to send back or share any information that I feel the shire can benefit & grow from. They can't get rid of us that easily.

Oh, and Mark has finally posted his mead recipe in a public forum. He put it up on his facebook last week, much to everyone's surprise!

I think your time is better spent with the people you care about. But whatever makes you feel better...

Good luck with your move. Safe trip. I wish you all the luck and happiness that the world has to offer!

I'm hoping for a safe & relatively uneventful travel out to Seattle in 2 days. I really do believe this is going to be something wonderful for both me and Mark. I can already see/hear the improvement in his disposition and motivation and overall enthusiasm about life in the 4 weeks he's been out there. I'm soo excited to find out what's on the road out there for both of us. :)

I echo everyone else in saying I'll miss you both and that you should spend your last couple of days on the Rock with folks who actually give a shit about you.
I also feel you've made the right move for yourselves. I've already wished you safe and well. But it can be repeated. Be safe and happy. Enjoy your new life and don't you dare forget us. (((((HUGS)))
