i have an open book test on locke (leviathan) and hobbes (second treatise of civil government) in less than 6 hours. i have yet to finish the rest of locke and start on hobbes, but laziness forces me to do other things. instead of studying the concepts, i sit here mesmerized by corinne bailey rae's soothing voice. i think she's my new neo-soul hero ( Read more... )

don't read hobbes and locke! just use sparksnotes!
that's all i did for all of those classic text poli sci courses i had to take. most of it is just them saying the same thing over and over again anyway.

i agree with the growing up too fast thing.

my mom told me to throw out all of my tees today. she thinks i have to start 'dressing for success'. i want jeans and sneakers my whole life.

you know, i should have done that. but i'm so clueless that i bought all the required books when i could've just borrowed 'em from the library or some shit. arrgh, thank god my undergrad days are almost over. i. can't. fucking. wait.

funny you mention the "dress for success" bit. i work at a real estate company and we're required to dress in office attire. being the stubborn shit that i am, i've gotten away with wearing jeans and sneaks to work. but yes, i do realize the need to buy a few suits in the coming months. the suits i want are from aritzia, though, and for a frugal shopper like me, i can't imagine dropping 3 bills on a stupid suit. but shit, it has to be done.

and btw, mothers know best so go forth and dress for success, missy. ;)
