David wrote to me yesterday on Facebook, and I was shocked to hear from him and shocked by his offer. I'm pasting the exchange, but I think I need to get out of it. He's just going to add more stress to an already stressful situation. Can you imagine if he had some big wine thing and I tried to cut in on it?

Yeah...I thought it sounded romantic at first but maybe that's more of "I'm embarrassed to be seen with you..."

You can get out of it, if you don't want to tel the balls-to-the-wall truth, by pleading your work schedule. Make shit up about your job if you have to -- they're filling every moment of your day from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., they're coming down hard about travel policy and expenses, anything and everything to dissuade him from thinking it's a good idea. And if he still doesn't get it, then yes, jut tell him "no."

He just wrote to me a few minutes ago and it sounds like he may need to come back to Prague during those days (he has the Monday and Tuesday off) to pick up the last of his belongings to take with him to Belgium so I have a feeling I won't see him in Copenhagen. Will I see him in Prague when he's back here? Hmm, probably not. Crisis averted.
