Feline Drama Queen

For the longest time, I've thought it would be neat to "walk the cat."  People walk their dogs all the time, but cat walking?  Not so common.  I remember asking about this as a kid and being told "yes, they make leashes for cats too."  Wow!  They do!  How exciting.  I made a mental note to implement this plan down the road when I owned my own cat ( Read more... )

cat leash, voip, moving, honey

Just read a little article about security trouble with e-passports. Towards the end of the article it mentions a security risk for people who route their calls over the internet... maybe you should look into this

oh, hehe, and when you put current location as "home" it does a nation wide search of places with "Home" in the name and tries to map it on google... :D

We got a collar for Ginny when we first got her since I was worried about her possibly escaping. She doesn't like it... at all... she gnaws on it franticly and has gotten stuck in the past so we don't use it... Recently Matt tried to put it on here again... It's now our newest "string" toy for her to chase ;)

(I thought Kate's story about the geese was hillarious :P)

I really don't think our cats would take kindly to a collar or leash. Much squirming and bitting would ensue.

Good luck with the apartment. I'd help you move, but that's too long of a bike ride for me.

PS - I'm thinking I have to post about the geese now... thanks a lot!

You should post about the geese. *taps foot impatiently, then considers actually checking her journal in case it's already there.*

We've tried the leash thing with our two cats as well. We found it was more trouble than it's worth. Our one cat, Elvis, he's perfectly content to stay on our patio and has yet to wonder off. The other one, Penelope, is a little different. No leash can hold her...even the ones that say no cat can escape. It takes all of 3 seconds and she's off running. Then she plays the you can't catch me game...not a lot of fun. For the most part, she stays inside. Elvis can stay out there for hours and not go any where. His problem is that he can't seem to resist chasing bees.

I true "no cat can escape" leash would probably be dangerous for the cat, as it would almost certainly have to involve significant amounts of adhesive. I am totally surprised and pleased that Honey doesn't seem resistant at all to the leash. If that reamins true, I'm hoping we can take her for walks and I can imagine her one day getting excited when she she's the leash come out, knowing it equals an adventurous walk in the outside world!

I only worry about ticks, mites and other health hazards that she is 99% shielded from being an indoor cat.
