I hope you can give Ava a good home and Tammy can keep her for you. Cats rule!! I don't have any pics though of Chips and Oreo... My Cat Owner's Manual has some good info on bringing a new cat into a home with a preexisting cat presense: Upon bring the new cat home, place it in its own private room with its food and water bowls, litter box, scratching post, and toys. Keep it there for several days, until it calms down and adjusts to you and to its new surroundings

This method seems intuitive, not that you'd automatically think of it, just sensible. If and when we get another cat, we may try this or at least incorporate it in part. Thanks :)

When we considered getting a second cat, our vet recommended that we get a male because our female was aggressive and probably wouldn't allow another female to share territory. I don't know Honey's temperment, but it sounds like she is much more docile than our Penelope

Interesting. We were actually thinking of getting another female cat on purpose on the presumption that our aggressive female cat wouldn't do as well with a male cat, but maybe that is backwards. I'll certainly ask my vet for his opinion on the same issue. Thanks for the heads up
