Nice! Enjoy the show...it's not an obsession or anything (if any of you are wondering), but it's almost certainly been the most enjoyable show I've ever watched. There are all kinds of varying opinions of it out there, however.

Oh, and my LJ name is Locke421, not Locke42. I'm not sure who the other one is, but it just goes to show how few usernames are available these days. ;)

Yep, not sure how I got the username wrong. It must just be since I'm unfamiliar, since I got it right when I added you to my friend list. Go figure :(

So far so good on the show! I'll keep you posted.

Psst.... we can't read your journal if you don't post anything ;)

Okay, okay. :) squealnakedcatj mentioned my blog, which is the reason I haven't posted anything...I had already started it well before I met him. So rather than try to duplicate everything I've done there into a new journal here, I'll just politely direct you there:

Life As I Know It

So I suppose I will be a half-conversion, but half is better than none!

Also, you just may see me back on the Alliance side of things (WoW), you never know. I am definitely looking forward to the group experience in the Burning Crusade. Start the countdown now...

The rich text feature drives me nuts. I tend to just turn it off and type in the code. What I esp. don't like about it is that you either have to use it or nothing. You can't type in code when rich text is turned on or it turns it into weirdness. Very annoying >:/

Code spk1121 December 14 2006, 00:09:55 UTC
Actually, you can. I write up everything except making the LJ users into hyperlinks, then click on "switch back" to regular code. It will switch over and work OK when I add the LJ user tags. Although I see now that they have a brand-new posting screen, so maybe the problem has been resolved...

So you're saying that what you have to do is just hit "switch back" right BEFORE you post?

Correctamundo. As far as I know, the only thing it might do is take out spaces if you put in two spaces after a period like I do. If I save it in rich text, edit it and switch to code, put in the LJ tags and save, it looks exactly as I intend. A fair amount of extra work, but at least it turns out right!

Complaining in the technical forum spk1121 December 14 2006, 00:12:04 UTC
The computer we have now is technically "ours," but ticklemerisi basically considers it mine, since I tend to hog it and because I made the purchase before we were married. sergeantbond is kindly assisting me with the project to determine what costs and deals are out there waiting to be had.
Sweet, sounds good. Did you get locke421 signed up with LJ? Let the conversions continue!

I cannot recall that at this time squealnakedcatj December 14 2006, 14:43:23 UTC
As I recall, locke421 was unfamiliar with LJ before I mentioned it months ago. If so, then yes I got him signed up, but I strongly doubt we'll be seeing any postings from him here, as he addressed above.

What? No "psychogryphon will be glad to know..." Matt and I are totally addicted to the show... thanks to Kate that is...

Wee! Possible second computer - yay ^_^

Your car only has 30,000 miles on it? Mine has almost 55,000!

Wee! New kitten in 2007 - yay ^_^ (echo?)

I told Kate what her Christmas present is.... so I'll tell you too (so you know to expect it)... You get a *drum roll*........PHONE CALL! YAY! (also so you know to ANSWER it... *giggles*)

Have you checked out Semagic yet? *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* They let you switch easily between HTML (entering your own code) and WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).

Um, that is, PG and SK will be glad too... *hides* squealnakedcatj December 14 2006, 14:54:44 UTC
Sorry. Didn't realize you were both Lost fans too. Thanks Kate!

Our little Honda Civic has 185,000+ miles on it, but Honda recommends a tune-up and/or full check-up on it once every 30K miles and it's actually been longer than that I think since the mechanic has checked under the hood and looked at everything. Luckily, our mechanic is an honest and great guy. Double luckily, he told me yesterday that he couldn't find anything wrong with the car that needed repair, replacement or attention! I was fully expecting to end up paying for something. $0 beats the $200-600 or so range I thought we might be looking at.

Thanks for letting me know what Kate's present is. I'm just glad you didn't tell me what mine is yet. *crosses fingers for a house or yacht* ;P

No I haven't tried Semagic yet, but remind me to check it out sometime when we're talking and I'm at home and I will.

So, actually, she did tell you what your Christmas gift will be. No yacht for you, sorry to ruin the "surprise!" :(

No problem, Nate. I'll talk with you more by phone and via email about the components. Just try to remember to sign-in to LJ before posting replies. Otherwise, like here, you end up posting as anonymous, which is sometimes confusing ;)
