See What I Mean
Some lovely person decided to give out Christina Aguilera's personal information based on the whole Hilton hacking scandal. So I said this really quick and I hope someone gets the message.
I'm not a mod here but I am a concerned fan so I'm going to say this really quick and then I'm gonna leave it at that. If you're a fan of someone that means you have a certain amount of respect for that person (hopefully). It also means that if that person were on the street you'd want the same respect in return. How exactly do you expect people to respect you though if you're going around adding to the madness that's already going on? What I mean is... we all know by now that Paris Hilton's phone was hacked... and I'll keep my comments to myself on that part of it... but I will say it's completely uncool and disrespectful to post people's private information on a message board, chatroom or wherever else. I guess you say that they are celebrities and they deserve what they get... but you have to imagine that this stuff was spread all over the world, which means you're not the only person privied to this information, which means that thousands and possibly millions of people could all be dialing the same number. Let me tell you, having to change your number is a bitch to put it bluntly... why would you help put someone through all of that? If you have phone numbers or emails that's your personal business and it's not like I can stop you from dialing up someone or emailing them... but think about what you're doing when you spread the information. Try looking at it like a virus. Once a virus is inside your body, unless you've got strong antibodies to stop it, the only thing it's going to do is spread and destroy. That's potentially what everyone is doing by sending people's private information out into the world like people don't have feelings and lives outside of this realm of stardom that they're given. All I'm saying is let's think before we act. You wouldn't like it if it happened to you and if you do get through on someone's number I don't know how you can expect anything other than hostility from the other end. Respect is respect. If you want it though, you've got to give it out first and none of us are doing that by copying down numbers and such or even searching for the websites to see if it's true or not.
