what exactly is the difference between a food processor and a blender? Don't they serve essentially the same function?

if not, then You could conceivably get rid of the scale and the timer to get the total down to where you wanted it. Not sure why you'd need a scale in the kitchen, and i'm sure everybody has a clock or watch in the kitchen already that they can make do with. For that matter, my oven and microwave both have a timer function.

But good list.

Well, food processors chop, grate, aerate, mix, and knead, while blenders puree and crush ice.

As for the scale, lots of recipes call for ounces or pounds of ingredients, and even when they call for cups you can measure more precisely with a scale than you could with measuring cups. The timer is better than just using your watch mostly due to the fact that it can time more than one thing at a time, count up or down, and has an alarm.
