hm well, found out yesterday that the day brian and i arrive in new york city (tomorrow) is the exact fucking day that the city's transit workers' contract expires and the workers plan to GO ON STRIKE. this would basically shut down the city: no subway system, no buses, overworked/overstretched taxies, streets completely swarmed, etc etc etc

on my first trip to new york, all of the city's musicians and actors were on strike, so i feel your pain. no phantom of the opera for amanda :-(

My first time in NYC, the musicians go on strike for the first time in history and I miss seeing Phantom of the Opera...You got nooo sympathy from me :)

yeah but it'm pretty sure it would be way worse if the transit system shut down in about 100000 ways. there would be no way to get anywhere...
