Had my first, true counseling session this week.  Won't go into the gory details of what topics we covered in the nearly hour-and-a-half, but enough to say a fair bit of it had never been discussed fully with another human being before ( Read more... )

The most important thing is you found a counselor and a therapy you feel safe with.
And it sounds like you already made big steps.

Glad to hear that you've had your first session - it is good to be able to talk to someone about everything that's been locked away.

The dancing should be fun! And hopefully this will all help you get back into the things you used to love doing, like your writing.

I'm so hoping to get back into that. I've even been exploring a new genre - Steampunk - to ginger up my muse.

and yes, it was very cathartic, and a relief to talk about them...guilt is a horribly heavy load to carry about for years.

Sounds like progress. I hope the new counselor works out well.

And dancing! Movement and exercise and meeting people. Cool!

Steampunk, eh? I'm betting you'd be really good at writing in the genre.
