First Day of the New Year

Yes, it is January 1st here in sunny - if a bit breezy - New Zealand.  I'm not sure wishing for a 'Happy' new year is quite the thing in these times.  2020 started with a hiss and a roar and great hopes quickly dashed by the spread of Covid.  2021 arrived promising lots of potential with vaccination being available and here, in New Zealand proving

Today I had my booster vaccine and if there are more to come I’ll take them gladly.

Thank you, dearest, for your support. I've kept so much of the above bottled up because of all the negative posts I've seen/read in the papers, on social media and I've kept my opinions to myself to keep the peace. But today, at the start of the new year, I just had to vent.

Congrats on getting your booster, I'm getting mine next week, and any others that are required from here on until forever. I know it won't stop me getting covid in whatever form it appears, but it will stop me DYING from it, and that is good enough for me.
