THINK FOR ME!

A question for the peanut gallery.
I keep, at this moment, my case open on my computer at home open, and my balcony door open. My computer won't post in the morning. Hypothesis, this is due to condensation on the motherboard. Opinion?

Have you considered the possibility that maliocious al-queda squirrels, angry at your freedoms, are terrorizing your motherboard?

Maliocious is a specific word, meaning : malicious and odoriferous, by the way. It is NOT a typo.

If that's a neologism, it's a good one.

Any beeps or activity at all?

Although I've never actually tried it, I would think that if the motherboard is actually wet when it's given power, the result would be letting the smoke out rather than just not POSTing...

The beep comes right after the post, so no beep. It starts later in the day though.
If it was wet, I'd say the magic blue smoke would be released, yes, but if it's just a small amount of dew, the consensus so far has been it would refuse to start. However, it could be an issue with the power supply, so, I'm hoping for someone to say they've had that problem and it was X.

I wish to add though that the dvd drive receives power and self tests, and the fans start up.

Hmmmm. If the fans and drives are running, the power supply is producing enough startup voltage, and is probably ok. No error beeps means the post isn't even getting partway through, so it sounds like you're on the right track with the motherboard.

I can't come up with a better theory than condensation, especially if it starts later in the day. Just how humid does your place get, anyway?

Well, I don't even know what it means to "post" but I'll go with computers dont' like to be wet, so it getting moistified will lead to malfunction.
