How's everyone's week been? I submitted Phantom Fears to Evernight and did some work on a new wip, although I've been feeling a bit "meh" about that for the past couple of days, so I don't really know what the future holds for that. i'm stuck on the veruca and finn sex scene because i can't even seem to get past the fact that they're kissing. i want to get some sweet making out and heavy petting and then leave the rest faded to black but i feel like i'm inept suddenly at writing anything even vaguely sexual. it's been so long since i've even kissed anyone that i have no idea what to write. also, it's depressing me.

so i'm trying to work on some other things but nothing feels like it's accomplishing anything so i just feel stuck in limbo with my whole writing everything right now.

I know it's a bit trite, but are there any books you really like the sex scenes in? You could try re-reading for inspiration.

I generally skip sex scenes, honestly. I skim them, but for the most part I get nothing from them so I don't read many. I have been thinking about rereading a bunch of the In Death books for inspiration, though, since Robb's sex scenes tend to focus more on the emotional side of the sex than the physical, which I think really works for this book.

Yeah, I much prefer that style to the more...technical sex scenes urban fantasy tends to have. Although some go too far the other way...Avoid Jeaniene Frost like the plague. I think one of her sex scenes lasted an entire chapter and the heroine passed out halfway through out of sheer love.
