It's been forever since I've talked anime

Just left off watching the third GiTS movie (and subsequently missing on doing labwork). Is anyone beginning to feel like this is never going to end...?

Musing on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society. Spoiler free )

Oh, Yukikaze. Sometimes I wished the plot made a bit more sense - I spent far too much time thinking 'WTF's going on this time?' and the more you dig into it, the more the plotholes start to appear. I still can't believe the major hadn't been court-martialled and kicked out of the army long before the end. But it was more intriguing than most anime, and it was a fascinating attempt at a love story when one guy's effectively autistic. And I did like the ambiguity of the ending, that was beautifully done.

He did get away with some really crazy shit, didn't he.

My guess is it's all because they were short-handed and he was good at what he did, i.e. keep some sort of rein over their trump card. But yeah.

Eee! New GitS movie! I completely forgot they were coming out with it. And did they finally translate the final ep of Yukikaze or is this some other manga thing? (Does Yukikaze even have a manga?)

It's the last ep. OMG the JACK/REI. It is, as people have said, not subtext.

You want me to upload both to hamayaki? I'm on battery now, but can do it tomorrow.

Yukikaze has novels. Which are in Japanese. Sad cannot read.

XD XD I'm beginning to believe that, with Gonzo, nothing is EVER the subtext. If you have the time and the power cord, then YES PWEASE, I'm so excited. More things to watch! Want me to upload this new TV shoes called Heroes? It has a bunch of people who have superpowers, in particular the CUTEST little round Japanese man-boy-otaku named, wait for it, Hiro, and his long-suffering best friend, Ando. And a surprisingly likeable cheerleader. Save the cheerleader. Save the world!

I can try translating the novels (badly) when I'm back :)

PS: I just went and checked, because I wasn't absolutely sure it was Gonzo, but guess what I found out? The director is apparently involved in the Blue Submarine no. 6 live-action. 0_0 (BSn6! Oh the memories.)
