Who goddamn managed to CUT HER LIP BLOODY ON A TOWEL?
Err so this one is a lot less dysfunctional in some ways. But then again, it's like, children. No fucking around with kids' minds. Very cute, very Ghibli except without the girl power. I am beginning to think that Gonzo makes it too damn easy to do the mad yaoi subtextual thing. I guess they finally caught on that this makes them the MAD $$$$. I mean, look how much I've bled for them already.
So I prefer the scifi over the fantasy, but this one's okay. It doesn't go overboard on the fantastical wonderland shit, plus, some of the plot devices were kinda funny because of the long tradition behind them. But of course, I wouldn't be liking anything where the characters were too well adjusted, so the touches of reality dysfunctionality were good.
The squeaky things, oh I am so ambivalent about the squeaky things. On the one hand my being wants to pulverise them and spit on the remains and then toss the soggy crumbs into the pit of an active volcano, on the other they're kinda okay.

When I was young (and the world was young and unicorns walked the earth and yaoi fen actually knew what they were doing), yaoi subtext was something you had to WORK FOR. You had to like, scan through 26 episodes of plot for like, the 25.7 seconds of interaction that had to be justified using examples from social convention (the lack thereof) and context, context, context to squeeze any drip of vaguely deeper than friendship could be construed as being brothers-in-arms but what's the fun in that feelings!
Seriously, what is up with that ending? I mean, when I think about it it's okay, yeah fine, friends and all that. BUT STILL.
Now I'm imagining happii endo in a decade with 2DK apartment and a freaking dog and cat. WHAT IS THIS. SHUT UP MIND. They're children you pervert. Which reminds me, I've been doing this (perving, turning them all gay) since I was their age. Damn you, old woman, you're not cute at all now.
