My barbecue is up and running. I grilled my own veggie burgers for the first time in two years. The old burner and all the other misc. parts were almost rusted out beyond recognition.

The burner is all new and works like a charm. I still need to paint the barbecue and frame. The stand is rusting out and I need to disassemble the whole thing and give ( Read more... )

Heh. We're actually in the process of restoring a BBQ that was abandoned on the side of the road. It looked like it used to be a pretty spendy one, once upon a time. Figure attempting to restoring it and getting it to work would be a lot more fun and a lot less $ than getting a brand spankin' new one.

It seems like NO ONE replaces burnt-out burners. Just about every garbage day I see one on the curb. Good for you for saving one.

It is pretty cool to turn a rusty hulk into a functioning bbq. Lucky you for finding a spendy one!

Nobody *has to* install a pull-up bar. Nobody. Ever. Except maybe some UFC competitors or something.
