Double depression is a thing. Usually it means a low that is always there a bit plus the major depression stuff.
I bet C will be happy when school is over for the summer too!
I think you are doing things in a logical fashion.
Your D&D campaign sounds awesome. If I lived closer, I'd come and play. But I don't. Sigh. And the derby league in paper and you in the photo-- awesome!
In my twenties, I used to play at a game room a couple of nights a week and usually all of Saturday afternoons. I dm'ed a little bit so I know what that is like. A really good dm does the prep but also really gets into it. Sounds like you are that!
I hadn't known you could get double depression as a diagnosis. I do know lots of folks who have been diagnosed with different types of depression and for most of them the medications do work. I can't say yes or no for you as everyone is different. But, it does work for many.
The D&D sounds great! I miss my old group and envy yours!
I've never heard of Double Depression, and I'm a therapist. Do they mean Major Depression? Or is it like a double rainbow? Or a chocolate chocolate chip Frappiccino? I say, if you are really miserable, it's sensible to take meds. You can stop when you think you might be able to go it on your own, or you can keep on them for a long time

Double depression is having dysthymia (chronic low grade depression lasting at least 2 years with no more than a month or two at a time without symptoms. Think Eeyore.) while also having major depression. I didn't know it was a thing until now. I'm definitely going to get on meds, its just going to take some time, and I remain apprehensive
