I dern't knerr. Might go have a peek look see in the source code, but I'm guessing it's C or somesuch for the complicated bits - but mostly XML/Javascript for the interface and web McGubbins.

mostly javascript. we do use c++ and some programmatic rdf feeds for the heavy lifting. it's not terribly scalable, tho, so we're moving to a different system in 0.3 that will give us better performance for large libraries.
you forgot to mention we use sqlite under the hood, that's how we have a chance of being able to maintain any kinds of libraries to begin with.
I'd tell you that you could browse our source at publicsvn.songbirdnest.com but the server is down and I can't give you a more specific url.

Cheers for the reply :) I've spent the past few weeks really getting into this whole XUL thing. I've found that Javascript applications can be a bit unweildy though, having written a widget or two in the past.
