Excellent essay, Squigglequill. I haven't read Wilson, so thank you for the references to his work. I've always heard good things about his writing and especially his ideas. It is good to be reminded that you are aware of "linguistic reprogramming" but to hear about it in the context of the seminar you attended shows how well you have applied your knowledge. Do you think you got your money's worth from that seminar?

I learned about "linguistic reprogramming" in reference to hypnosis and the term used was "neural-linguistic reprogramming" referring to how the brain reprograms itself when positive words and ideas are used to replace negative ones. In counseling it is referred to as "reframing" and while this seems a simple concept, taking an old idea and "reframing" it in a more positive context, its effect can be quite powerful

Do you think you got your money's worth from that seminar?

I will answer that question in the second half of this story. Technically, Roscoe paid for it. I think I paid him back half...or none at all, not sure.
