Rhubarb

I have a HUGE rhubarb patch in my front yard.

I just discovered that there is a second rhubarb patch, HUGE as well, in my back yard.

Does anybody want some rhubarb?

If you come visit me, you can have some.

Hey, I completely forgot about the whole recipe thing. I can get you my mom's recipe next week (she says you can freeze rhubarb practically forever. A cup and a half or so in a ziploc bag; 1 bag per cake)

You may have already found a recipe, but if not, this is the one my mom used:

Mix together:
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg

Add:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk
1 1/2 cups chopped rhubarb
1 teaspoon vanilla

Place in 9 x 13 "pan

In a separate bowl, mix:
1/2 cup sugar
a teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Top cake with mixture
Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes

I haven't had it in years, but I remember it being pretty good.
