Just wanted to restate something

Just restating what I left in a comment in someone else's journal.

Now of course who wins will make an incredible amount of difference in what happens to our future, but barring election tampering or something of that nature, when the votes are in, that's it. I really don't want to hear any sour grapes any so and so was cheated, the race will be ( Read more... )

The thing is? In BOTH of the past elections, there have been reports of things that legitimately call the election results into question. I don't think that demanding that all legitamite votes be recorded accurately and counted to be drama. Everyone knows about 2000, and in 2004, hundreds of voters in several states, including Ohio, reported voting machines that did not correctly record their votes. And in cases where there are issues, yes they absolutely must be addressed. Legitimate issues are one thing, for every vote to count, every vote must be counted. I'm more referring to baseless conspiracy theories and people fussing and whining merely because their candidate didn't win.

Amy here - I agree with the last commenter. One doesn't need to label it a conspiracy theory, election fraud in the last two U.S. elections is conspiracy FACT. There comes a time (and I had really hoped it would have happened 4 years ago, but moving forward....) when as a nation we have to stand up to those in power who steal away our civil liberties, who defraud our democratic processes, who plunder and steal our national resources and who make a mockery of everything the founders of this great nation stood for. I think millions of lovely nice americans of both parties rolled over and let themselves be raped up the a$$ by the Bush Administration and its Halliburton Enron Fannie Mae/Mack cronies, because they didn't want to perpetuate "drama". I encourage everyone to reread the Declaration of Independence - not just the first part that most Americans are familiar with, but to really read the list of reasons the founding fathers gave for taking such radical, anarchical and revolutionary action against the King of England. ... )
