~sigh~ nothing like becoming obsessed with thoughts you have too much stress and not enough money to do anything about. Darn my biological clock. I know you can't wait for the perfect time. I know I have a fabulous support network, and we'd make it work, but I really feel strongly about being able to afford to diaper my child on our own.

Actually, you'd be surprised. if you want until you think you can afford it, you never will. When i was married we agreed that we wold wait to have our second child until we could afford it. 6 years later we decided to stop waiting and just do it. And you know what? My son is 10 now and he has never wanted for anything. He's always had diapers always been fed and always had everything he needed (and even some things he didn't need but just wanted). I fyou want it bad enough. go for it. You won't regret it. :)

I can agree with Night Elf's line of logic. It's true about the waiting. But there's also the waiting long enough just to feel good with it. That's the important part to me. When you get to the "Yes! Now!" moment, no matter what your financial system is like, you've got the support system for it.

You could also go join a commune :P

I have so much sympathy for you, my dear... I don't have the same situation, but similar enough that I think I understand what it must feel like.

Also, for what it's worth, add me to the list of those agreeing with Night Elf. I know more than a few people with kids, who have/had that same scenario.

People with less money than you have children every day, and they manage to feed and clothe them.. you can too :)
