Ok, I understand that they are supposed to be very comfortable which is great for people on their feet all day, but OMG I really just find Croc's very unattractive. I find them unattractive enough I can't really even consider wearing them. I mean this Read more... )

crocs are fugly and aren't good for your feet. squishy doesn't mean supportive.

they're handy for working in the yard/washing the car. that's really about it.

OTOH, I wear their flip flop style, and it's the only thing other than a $300 MBT that doesn't impact the misaligned bones (that have no padding left) on the ball of one foot: ie, the only things that don't hurt to wear.
I agree that the style is Fuggly, but there are times when 'not hurting' just takes precedence
And, yes, I'm going to have foot surgery (again!) in May.

Now that is about the only reason I can see for wearing something that Fuggly. If they are the only thing that you can wear without pain, absolutely go with that choice.

plus, living in FL, now, I wear the style that looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0014C49YG/ref=nosim/coffee0819_1147-20, and they're actually kinda cute.

Cheap and fuggly. Wouldn't touch 'em with your feet. :)

I can't bring myself to wear them, either. Mind you, it's hard enough just to get me out of my boots. ;) Most people tell me that they're comfortable, but I have been cautioned that they're not always actually good for you, either.

The basic, original Croc made a name of being ugly and comfortable. They've grown a lot since then, and while they still make the "fugly" shoes, they also have several designs that, while not eveningwear shoes, are not nearly so shocking. Check out their website for their wide variety of designs.

What zie said. I really dislike the design of the original crocs, but most of the sandal crocs and flip flops, I like. I have a pair of each, actually, and they are super comfy.
