No joke. However given the UFCs track record for dealing with guys that put on terribly unexciting performances (see Jake O'Brien's recent contract buy-out) we'll never hear of Starnes again. What an asshole. Good on that crowd, though huh!? They knew who to boo :)
Also, screw the serra/GSP post-fight -- Find pictures of Huerta giving GSP the good luck pat before the fight. Roger was decked out in a suit and looking scrumptious.
Now what to do with Rich Franklin? He can beat everyone else in the division, but not the best. Do we keep lining up fights with him hoping that someone will beat him soon so that they can challenge Silva? Or do we end up watching Rich be second best until he retires? Although I love Franklin, I was hoping Lutter would win so that 185 would be less boring.
Yeah 185 is currently screwed. Let Demian Maia get a few more fights under his belt though and we'll have a believable challenger on our hands. So that's 2 years from now. In the meantime I guess Anderson really wants to box Roy Jones jr.
Not helpful, I know. I think Okami will gte the next shot, though. Silva really wants to fight him since Yushin won that DQ over Anderson a while back (illegal upkick while Okami's knees were down) and Anderson always felt it was a cop out on Okami's part to win that way.
Okami also did have that Kimura on Franklin in the 3rd round of their fight. While Franklin won the decision he was looking beat at the end of it, so I can see thyem giving Okami a couple of cans and then having him face Silva
( ... )
Haha, sounds like something I'd do too. It's mixed martial arts, so the guys were beating the crap out of each other for nearly 10 minutes prior to the congratulatory hugging. I'm still looking for pictures.
