So uh, Merlin.

GAY GAY GAY THERE IS SO MUCH SUBTEXTUAL GAAAAAY. Kinda like the Navy.Seriously, I adore this show. It's super sub-par ala Torchwood, but ALSO ala Torchwood, it's sub-par in a very happily homo-erotic way. And like, half the show is PLOT and the other half is MERLIN AND ARTHUR BANTER, therefore LIFE IS GOOD ( Read more... )

I think the sub-parness is actually quite par for British television. Everything I watch from there is so incredibly campy... but I just don't care!

Yesterday I had this incredible urge to watch TW actually... Which was weird. I was just really jonesin' for some Ianto pwnage. But since I don't have any TW on my computer, I watched Robin Hood instead. It is also super camp, and the fight scenes are absolutely horrifying. But, like I said, I don't care. I love it anyway. (clearly the accent has too much power over me...)

I think the dramas are the worst. I dunno, like they just don't have the same production value... which is fine in a comedy setting, b/c it's supposed to be ridiculous anyway.. If that makes sense?

Whoa whoa whoa!!
hahah there's a Gaius on Merlin? That's awesome, simply b/c I am pretty sure that BSG's Gaius is supposed to make a guest appearance on Merlin at some point.

And GILES? Crap, now I'm sold. So many shows, so little time.

Oh, and speaking of books you recommend: I am reading Shadows Return now. I just finished Traitor's Moon last week. They have proven very good reading for work breaks.

I know! Every single episode is Merlin and Arthur's sexual tension hour!! They haven't even developed the female love interests very well as a result! It made me LOL.
Also, Pokemon = love.

I know, right? Cos the last episode they were all like "LOOKIT ARTHUR AND GWEN SHARE LOVE RIGHT? RIGHT?" but then they completely go against that when Arthur does things like STICK HIS FOOT IN MERLIN'S FACE. ♥

PILLOWTALK!!
Plus it seems to me they're setting Arthur up with Morgana, and obviously Merlin with Gwen.
But in reality, its all Arthur/Merlin.
MY BRAIN IS MELTING FROM THE SLASH!! Delicious slash.
My favorite line from that episode was
"we're friends mom."
"its more than that..."

HAHA, yeah "more than that", that's how they're putting it.

And yeah, they ARE setting up for Arthur/Morgana, but in the face of the actual myth, Arthur/Gwen and Morgana/Merlin would make more (well, kinda more) sense. But it doesn't change the fact that while they are supposedly setting up for het ships, they are blatantly just slashing all over the place. It's so awesome and ridiculous and a little sad because I'm pretty sure the boys'll never actually make out or anything.

BUT THEY SHOULD

LOL. Why is everyone telling me about the gay of Merlin? Really, people are IMing me with, "LIZ, DID YOU KNOW MERLIN IS LEGIT GAY?" and I'm like, "I DO NOT WATCH TV WTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" and then I get rants. So now I know of a show I've never seen. IT IS HUMOROUS TO ME.

Hahaaaa, seriously, download it. It's one of those shows that you'll watch and get warm happy feelings after doing so, because it's so campy and flirty and fun. And GAAAAY. Like, not REALLY because it's all subtextual, but whenever there is subtext, it's frolicking in the rainbows. It's HILARIOUSLY awesome. also, Arthur is hot. Which I say with a little reservation cos he's all youngish, but not really. SO HOT. :)

XD! I am tempted to do so . . . or to have my housemate download it for me because my computer DESPISES BitTorrent. Sad, sad day. But everyone keeps telling me, "Watch this show, Liz. Watch it for the GEI!" And I'm like, ". . . erm, okay?" And I trust the judgment, since it's the same people who recommended that I watch Supernatural (which I now adore) and Veronica Mars (which I adored until season three bit the bullet). Yeah.
