Boo-urns. (But it's my fault really.)
I did not make my weekend's word count goal of 20K, but I did make it past 15K, and that's no small thing. I just have to be sure I write every night this week, and I should be at 30K by Friday. I really want to have 50K by the 15th, and things are moving nicely. My main problem this year is the outlining--figuring out what I want to write about ( Read more... ) -

So on Friday I took the night off from NaNo because a friend went out to dinner with Mike and I and then we went to a bar for my brother-in-law's 29th birthday party. Yesterday? There's no excuse. The words are coming easier now, but a lot of them still suck ass. That's okay though, I plowed through nearly 3,000 words in an hour and a half, which is good time for me. So I started NaNo with a new first day record for myself--5,033 words on day one! Although that's nothing compared to that Australian dude who hit 50K in one day, but more power to him! Had I taken today off of work and had a solid outline, I mathematically could have hit 40K, but that would have been too crazy. I'm just happy that even with ( Read more... ) -
Weekly blurb update...
Feeling ambivalent about NaNo. My bosses told me at a bar night last Thursday that the supervisor position is mine, with five people under me--it's a matter of weeks. It's like that car commercial where everyday in the same thing until you turn a corner and there's the outside world and a schnazzy new SUV waiting for you. Again! Again I've forgotten my wallet at home, so I have no money to buy lunch. Like, not even change to get something out of the vending machine, and no ATM card to get more cash. This totally blows. -

I'd say I'm a pretty good worker. I get my shit done, and when I don't I fess up and try to make things right again. The latter is the reason I've been working on a huge project for the last four days, but at the end of this week I'll be so much better off--my customer will be happy, and so will I.
