I (Newt) am currently in Atlanta. I (Martha) am quite willing to participate in and aid any efforts at retrieving further information, including (of course) an autopsy of the body, should one become available (9 dice for applicable Science roll). I (Newt) don't have time to coordinate any of this until I get back, so please assume that I am willing to do any and all useful things that anyone thinks of for me to do. As of Saturday, I may have time to think of such things, or I may be busy unpacking/being visited by my mother-in-law/packing for next weekend; we'll see.

Ellie has both Correspondence and Matter, so she could modify a pair of sunglasses, binoculars (magnification x10) or an amateur telescope (magnification x300) so that they let her see through walls. She can therefore get information without having to actually be at the crime scene/the morgue. She just has to figure out how to get herself near them without being conspicuous.

Could she do this from e.g. the public library's bathroom? Is there a park full of tall trees containing interesting birds next to the relevant apartment building? Does she have to actually fit a telescope in a briefcase (she's got four dots in Matter, she might be able to) or can she apportate it (she's only got two dots in Correspondence)? Are the vampires going to make this comment irrelevant by actually getting into the crime scene?

My character is indeed planning on getting in. See above.

Actually, I've changed my mind. I like the idea of not entering the apartment. Of course, do make sure to make a thorough record of what you see.

Well, someone may want to go into the apartment to see if there are any tarot cards that are there, since there have been at least one (if not more) at each of the crime scenes. Granted, Thomas may be able to get that information from the police.

Also, once we get the mage's name, Alex tries to figure out what tradition the mage is through my network of mage contacts. Alex tries to see if any of the mages or the community at large has any ideas on who the head murder is and/or the various mages keep being killed.

Alex tries to tap into the security cameras in the apartment building to see if anything unusual happened. She also tries to taps into the police station cameras and computers to see what information she can find. She spends many hours doing this but she keeps applying life (she has 2 or 3 dots of Life) to herself to keep her alive and good.

After taping into the various video cameras, she does some further research on the tarot cards(assuming thee are some there at the crime scene). She searches extensively in her online databases.

If Alex can hold the actual tarot card from the crime scene (assuming there is one and she can hold it), she will try to see if she can see where it used to be through her time sphere. (asuming the GM approves of this =))

Nick, how hard is it to find not just a mage, but a Euthanatos Scorpio who lives in a highrise ( ... )

You'd have to use magic to find them, as these are rather specific associations. That said, the killer may have chosen Boston specifically because there were viable targets (relatively) near by. Whether the Tarot cards relate to how the killer found them or he used some other method and the tarot cards serve some other purpose is something you really don't have enough information to deduce.
