So today is a special day at the office. We're having a 4th of July luncheon, with a cookout. Everybody is supposed to bring something, so I made my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. compliments to the baker of cookies are almost always just as nice as the cookies being praised, aren't they?
the only time i ever took food to work was for "diversity day" wherein we were encouraged to bring a food representative of our own personal taste or history or whatever. the first year, i brought my favorite dish ever - cheddar cheesy spoonbread. MMM. the second year i brought an Indian-influenced casserole that my grandmother used to make - one of the 5 recipes that she handed down to her daughter-in-law (my mother) so she'd have something that she knew my dad would eat. ;-)
