After months of excuses, I got tested today- yesterday- for HIV. There were eleven of us. Five tested reactive for HIV antibodies, that's almost half. I knew one of them. The counselor asked the six of us who tested non-reactive to leave so he could tell them. I walked out of the center at 10 am, and lost myself in Quiapo for hours ( Read more... )

I always thought the testing took longer - or is that just when it's done through formal hospital labs?

Just remain responsible. Whether or gay or straight, protection is essential and no matter how often you get tested, you won't find anything.

I agree with the person above me. Please stay safe. There's never a good reason not to use protection, no matter who you are or what your sexual orientation is. I hope everything's okay. *hug*

That's some quite depressive numbers, right there. We need to - all of us, no matter sexual orientation - to use protection. Is there any sex ed focusing on homosexuals in Manila? Hell, is there for anyone? I know the school funded in DK lacks a lot - especially regarding same-sex. It's more or less up to the gay groups to educate in safe sex here. It's so fucked. Sex ed is the only way to really make people understand the importance of condoms. Sigh.

Stay safe, bb. Don't do it without protection and get tested often. When in doubt about someone, say no. The only alternative is celibacy and that is, believe me, B-O-R-I-N-G.

♥ *hugs*
