So a guy brings in a PowerBook. He says that every time he starts up the computer, the icon of his hard drive ends up in the corner on the lower right, instead of the upper right. He can move it to the upper right, and it will stay there until he restarts again. I take a quick look, and sure enough, it's just as he says. It smelled like a corrupted ( Read more... )

to his credit, he did identify the shell correctly, as bash is now the default shell in mac os x. if his dad were running 10.2 or earlier, though, he would have been totally off base, as the default shell that shipped then was tcsh.

i would have accepted "bash terminal [session]" as something that makes sense. i had to surpress my laughter every time he yelled "terminal bash" and jumped up and down...
