I think I found this elsewhere in my initial mad rush of reading Monk fic and loved it. I can totally see Monk needing to be 'controlled' in this way before being able to give in. Leland has 'bemused dom' written all over him ;)

*blush* Thanks so much! This was my first Monk piece, and I swear I don't remember writing it, except maybe some cloudy snapshots of working with the words "hoist" and "sift" in the last paragraph. Otherwise, I have no idea where it came from!

I don't have USA network, so I'm just really getting into Monk as it's replaying on broadcast TV (though I did catch the brief promotional stint on ABC for season one.) The more I've been watching, the more drawn I am to the Monk/Stottlemeyer dynamic. The way Stottlemeyer takes care of Monk, and the way Monk lets Stottlemeyer touch him without freaking out the way he would him someone else....I just had to go looking for slash.

Which is why I'm so late to the party, and commenting on your year-old story. But this is just what I was looking for. Thank you. *Puts to memories*

Thanks for the welcome! I must admit I thought the fandom would be bigger(how are more people not seeing the Monk/Stottlemeyer love?)and I'm having a hard time finding recs. If you don't mind my asking...I'm especially looking for anything with a bit of kink, but I'm not picky as long as it's hot. So far I've put your story and Daasgrrl's "Wet Dreams" to memories.

BTW,I was telling my husband, "You know how Monk's a big control freak? I just read a story where Stottlemeyer finds out the only way to get him to let go during sex." And he says, "By tieing him up?" Which shows why this guy is the man for me:)

I was just tending to this journal and saw your comment, which I realized I had completely forgotten to answer. My apologies! Hopefully you have found some of what you seek by now, but just in case...

Have you checked out the R- or NC-17- (or FRA-, or whatever) rated M/S fic at monkslash? Not a lot of variety in terms of authorship, but there's definitely some stuff there.

More specifically, the very first major M/S fic that really dared to get down and dirty was Handholding by Shamrock. It's not my favorite story--I feel like some of the Stottlemeyer characterization is off--but there's no question that it's a breakthrough piece, and it's definitely hot.

Undone is another early NC-17 M/S, by thsfuhqinsux. It's both sexy and emotionally intense. Her Evolution is also sexy in that understated, non-explicit way. (You need to request that she friend you in order to see the fic.)

Besides the story you mentioned, daasgrrl wrote another good one called Mr. Monk and the Captain's Conscience, which is nice and long and sweet and eventually (if too briefly!) ( ... )
