It's been two months since I began my internship (and since my last post) and I'm still getting used to my new role. I've finished translating Presenting (which was very hard work) and I'm already working on another book: Golf: 50 Great Tips (even harder work since I had no knowledge of the subject before I started the translation). I haven't ( Read more... )

Lol, don't worry about it. Do it when you have the time and the disposition. I'm still watching the first season of Bones, so it'll take me a while to get there.

Legend of the Seeker is amazing! I love fantasy novels, so I decided to give the pilot a chance and I wasn't disappointed. And episode three was even better than the ones before that! Yay!

That must be tough! But it's what you always wanted to do, right? Translating? Gotta start at the bottom, or something along those lines. haha =]

Merlin is my #1 show lately. It's just darling ♥
I'm glad to hear from you, btw. I feel like I can relate to you =)

I think I find it though because we're not prepared for any of this in class. I mean, all the research, and needing reference books and not knowing how or where to find them (especially for free, lol). In class it's more like "Here's the original, there's the Internet, now have fun translating". The Internet is a godsend, but sometimes it just can't compete with human knowledge.

But I love translating, so after all the frustration, all that bleeding into the page, the reward is very very satisfying. When I'm looking it over for the last time, after the proof-reading and the revision, when I see that it actually makes sense, that it's accurate and simple, and it makes me proud... it's all worth it. It's just not as fast as I wish it could be.

Merlin always brings a silly grin to my face. Always. I hope they don't stop at 13 episodes. We're almost there and I don't want it to end. Ever.
