Why is it that happiness comes in such small doses but disappointment comes in such big ones?

not really.

when you get a big cut, you're fine about it until you look at it.

papercuts you feel right when you get them.

Because you take being content for granted, so when something bad happens it feels like your whole world is fucked up. Most normal human beings are content most of the time, but you don't think about that. You only think about the times when you're ecstatic about something in relation to the times you're disappointed about something. See what I'm sayin? Disappointment wouldn't be such a big deal if you were disappointed most of the time.

So in a nutshell, what I'm trying to say is--you have a lot more happiness in life than disappointment, as long as you're playing your cards right. =)
